Continental recalling furloughed pilots
Continental Airlines Inc. is recalling 132 pilots who were furloughed in 2008, saying it needs them to offset retirements and handle an increase in international flying. Continental spokeswoman Julie King said the additional pilots would cover the company's needs over the next 18 months.

Gulf Air launches Miles Redemption Facility for excess baggage
Gulf Air has introduced a new incentive for its Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP) members travelling from Bahrain and London. In August 2010 traffic, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres, fell by 2.9 per cent. Passenger capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometres, was down 2.6 per cent on August 2009.

American Eagle Airlines reports August traffic
American Eagle reported that its August traffic increased 13.8 percent year over year as capacity increased 13.2 percent. August load factor was 73.1 percent, an increase of 0.4 points compared to the same period last year.

American Airlines reports August traffic
American Airlines reported that August traffic increased 3.1 percent versus the same period last year. Capacity increased by 3.2 percent year over year, resulting in a load factor of 84.6 percent, which was within 0.1 points of last year's load factor.
