Czech Airlines Handling appoints new head
As of 1 September, Martin Stolba, who has thus far been the Director of the Czech Airlines Ground Operations Management Department, became the Registered Representative of the Czech Airlines subsidiary Czech Airlines Handling. Martin Stolba is replacing Frantisek Lesundak in the position, whose employment with the company terminates as at 30 September.

Japan Airlines to start new and improved services at Haneda from Autumn 2010
Japan Airlines will begin serving passengers at the newest international terminal of Tokyo International Airport when it officially opens on October 21, 2010. In addition, JAL will unveil its renewed facilities such as check-in counters and lounges at domestic passenger terminal 1 as soon as the upgrades are completed from the middle of October.

Wizz Air to open Belgrade base with 5 new routes
Wizz Air, the largest low fare - low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced today that it would establish its 13th operating base in Belgrade, Serbia starting in April 2011. Initially the airline will deploy one brand new Airbus A320 aircraft.

JetBlue starts nonstop Boston-Phoenix service today
JetBlue Airways today launched its newest route from Logan International Airport with daily nonstop service to Phoenix. Already carrying the most customers to the most nonstop destinations from Boston, Phoenix is JetBlue's 38th nonstop destination from Logan, and comes in addition to a 30 percent increase in departures this summer.

SA Express announces 10% increase in net profit for year ending March 2010
Fast growing domestic and regional airline, SA Express, is proud to report a net profit of R250 million for the financial year ending 31 March 2010. Despite the tough operating environment, primarily caused by low passenger numbers due to the volatile economic conditions, the airline managed to ensure a profit.

US Airways reports August traffic
US Airways Group, Inc. today announced August and year-to-date 2010 traffic results. Mainline revenue passenger miles for the month were 5.5 billion, up 0.6 percent versus August 2009. Mainline capacity was 6.5 billion available seat miles, up 1.2 percent versus August 2009. Mainline passenger load factor was 85.2 percent for the month of August, down 0.5 points versus August 2009.

Alaska Air Group reports August traffic
Alaska reported a 10.0 percent increase in traffic on a 7.1 percent increase in capacity, resulting in a 2.2-point increase in load factor to 86.5 percent.

Ameco Beijing provides line maintenance services on Lufthansa A380
Ameco Beijing starts line maintenance work on Lufthansa's A380 aircraft from September 2nd 2010. It is the first time for Ameco Beijing to provide services on the Superjumbo jet. Technical assistance will be provided to the Lufthansa station engineer in Beijing until the training and qualification process for Ameco releasing staff is completed.

Continental Airlines reports August 2010 operational performance
Continental Airlines today reported an August consolidated (mainline plus regional) load factor of 86.5 percent, 0.7 points above the August 2009 consolidated load factor, and a mainline load factor of 87.2 percent, 0.6 points above the August 2009 mainline load factor.

Prague Airport traffic development
July 2010 saw a slight year-on-year decrease by 1.8% in numbers of passengers handled at Prague Airport. A total of 1,289,152 passengers passed through the airport in the reported month. The number of aircraft movements declined by 6.4% to the total of 14,998.

Prague Airport - network expansion
German air carrier Lufthansa has announced an increase of frequency on its flights between Prague and Frankfurt. The new daily frequency will be operated by a spacious Airbus A320 aircraft type with 142 seats in business and economy classes.

American to move its Asia-Pacific Regional Office to the Japan Airlines building in Tokyo
American Airlines today announced it will move its Asia-Pacific Regional Office to the JAL Building, the headquarters of Japan Airlines (JAL), in the Shinagawa district of Tokyo. American plans to complete the move from its current office in Uchisaiwaicho by January 2011.
